Evaluation platform for good design
The Red Dot Award: Product Design, which dates all the way back to 1955, honours the best products of each year. "In search of good design and innovation" — the 50 or so judges of the 2021 competition once again set out to find excellently designed and ground-breaking products. This international panel of experts is made up of professionals from a wide variety of fields. As part of a process lasting several days, they thoroughly examined the submissions, using evaluation criteria such as formal quality, ergonomics and longevity to help them make their decision.

From 21 June 2021, the VEGA will be on display in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website. The same day also marks the beginning of the Red Dot Design Week, during which this year's award winners, including Otto Christ AG and design studio Phormolog OG, will be honoured as part of a digital event.

From 22 June 2021, the VEGA will also be featured in the "Design on Stage" exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, which showcases all of the winning products. There, visitors can discover the quality of the designs among contemporary design solutions and historic industrial architecture. The 2021/2022 Red Dot Design Yearbook will be published in August, providing a comprehensive overview of the state of the art as well as trends in product design. 

About the Red Dot Design Award: 
The field of design is an incredibly diverse one, and to ensure that this diversity is appraised correctly, the Red Dot Design Award is divided into the three disciplines — Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept. With over 18,000 submissions, the Red Dot Award is one the world's largest design competitions. The year 1955 saw the first panel of judges come together to assess the best designs of the age. In the 1990s, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr Peter Zec developed the award's name and brand. The highly coveted "Red Dot" award has been an internationally renowned mark of outstanding design quality ever since. The award winners are featured in the yearbooks, museums and online. About the VEGA
As the logical successor of the successful C16X series of roll over wash systems (PRIMUS, GENIUS, VARIUS), the parties responsible for sales, production and customer service worked together to create a specification for the next generation of roll over wash units. At the same time, the visual appearance—the DNA of the systems, so to speak—was fundamentally redesigned and merged with the functions of the machines. The new user interface and software of the roll over wash unit was, figuratively speaking, the cherry on top of the VEGA, which is now setting new standards in the global car wash market.
